Why We Like It
This is a great destructible enrichment for birds and other small animals. The newspaper that is pulled out of the box can be used as bedding or nest material, too.
Materials
Small box
Newspaper
Scissors
Food (nuts, seeds, dried fruit, etc)
How to Make It
Poke an even amount of holes through each of the four walls of the box
Rip newspaper into shreds
Bunch up one shred of paper and thread it through one hole in the box, and then through the hole directly across from it. It may help to twist the ends of the newspaper
Repeat step 3 until all holes on one side (and the side across from that side) of the box have newspaper through them
Weave newspaper through remaining holes of box
Fill box with food and treats (you may want to cover the food with more newspaper, too)
