What better way to encourage species-specific behaviors in foraging animals than to give them a forage? This unique foraging opportunity encourages animals to be active and explore their environments. You can modify the recipe for just about any herbivore/omnivore.
Materials
Several leaves or other materials to wrap food
Concoction of food mash (visit Honolulu Zoo's enrichment recipe page for ideas!)
How to Make It

Create mashed food mixture (mix parts of your animal's diet, treats, etc to make an oatmeal-like consistency)

Dollop a portion of the mixture into each leaf and wrap the leaf around the mash

Hide around the animal's enclosure
